An information tent will be set up in Paseo Barrón and in the Juan Carlos I gardens this week to publicize the service offered by this municipal facility and reduce the abandonment of belongings on public roads
The Fraga City Council has launched the "Use the Point" campaign , which aims to promote the use of this municipal facility and raise awareness about the proper recycling of materials that cannot be disposed of in regular containers. As part of this initiative, an information tent will be set up this Thursday on Paseo Barrón, and on Friday it will be present in the Juan Carlos I Gardens. Posters with information about the recycling center, located in the SUP-7 industrial park, will also be placed on city containers. Furthermore, this information campaign will be disseminated through the City Council's social media channels to reach the widest possible audience.
“ The recycling center in our city performs a very important role in recycling, as it allows Fraga residents to deposit items that cannot be recycled elsewhere, thus preventing them from being abandoned on the street, ” said the mayor of Fraga, Ignacio Gramún, who added that “ these types of campaigns are very useful, as they aim to inform citizens about certain services offered by the City Council and reduce behaviors that are not positive for the functioning of the city .”
Service expansion
Furthermore, the mayor highlighted the expansion of services at this municipal recycling center during the previous legislative term. Previously, these facilities were only open Monday through Friday—days when most residents are busy and unable to transport their recyclables—but now they are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m. and from 15:30 p.m. to 19:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m.
Awareness campaign
The Councillor for Municipal Services, Verónica Martos, echoed the Mayor's sentiments, stating that this campaign is " much needed to raise awareness among citizens about the existence of the recycling center and the importance of not abandoning bulky and non-bulky materials on the city streets. Sometimes, people leave items in public places simply because they are unaware that we have a service for this, and that is precisely what we want to prevent with this initiative ."

“ Another reason that can lead to the abandonment of belongings on public roads is the inability to transport these materials to the recycling center,” commented the councilor, who stressed that “we are fully aware that not everyone can transport certain types of waste to the recycling center, whether due to size or simply because the person does not have a vehicle to transport it .”
Therefore, he continued, “if it is not possible to take the material to the recycling center, the City Council offers a curbside collection service.” To use this service, you must request it from the City Council by calling 974 47 00 50 and follow the instructions provided by the municipal staff.
Materials that can be recycled
At the municipal recycling center you can deposit household appliances, small rubble, clean wood, dirty wood, fluorescent tubes, batteries, glass (not glass containers) and bulky items.
