The town council has put out to tender the first two projects of the CINCA Revive program for 200.000 euros
The Fraga City Council has put out to tender this week the first two actions of the CINCA Revive project for a total of €200.395,14 (VAT included). These are actions B5 and B6 of the river ecosystem restoration project, and both will be carried out on the left bank of the Cinca River within the city limits. The deadline for submitting bids is July 17 at 23:59 p.m.
Action B5 consists of the restoration of the riparian forest in the area located between the floodable river park and the fishing pool. This intervention includes clearing the undergrowth, removing the non-native reeds, revegetation, and creating a circular nature trail with informative signage that will allow access to the interior of the area. All of this will give the area a recreational character and will also facilitate access for carrying out maintenance work.
Regarding action B6, this involves the restoration of the nature reserve area located south of the fishing pool . The planned operations include cleaning and restoring the riparian forest downstream from the pool, which currently has numerous areas of uncontrolled dumping of rubble.
The Councillor for Urban Planning, Esther Rubio, has stated that these actions “are the first two of a series called CINCA Revive, which is a vital project for the safety of the residents of Fraga and which, once completed, will mark a turning point for our city.”
“In addition to strengthening the safety of the residents of Fraga in terms of flooding, with CINCA Revive we will also be able to transform the river into a natural space that we can all enjoy the potential it truly has ,” Rubio stated.
The execution period for these first two actions - of the 14 that make up CINCA Revive - will be 6 months , and the works must begin from September 31st, coinciding with the autumn period, which will allow the plantings planned in the project and the staking to be carried out.
The CINCA Revive project is supported by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
