The city council is working to expand its staff. With this new appointment, all vacancies will be filled.
The Fraga City Council this week approved the terms and conditions for the open competitive examination to fill two vacant Local Police officer positions. With these two positions, for which the application period ends on May 5th, all current vacancies will be filled. Furthermore, the City Council is working to increase the number of local police officers in the coming months.
The mayor of Fraga, Ignacio Gramún, stated that “filling these vacant positions in the Local Police force is an important step in this administration's commitment to the city's safety.” He added, “We are dedicated to improving the service for the benefit of our citizens, with the goal of making people feel safer in their city, and therefore we must work to expand the force as much as possible.”
On the other hand, Gramún referred to the Local Security Board meeting held last Monday to assess the city's situation: “During the meeting, crime statistics for the city were presented. These are confidential figures, but what I can say is that they are within the normal range for a city the size of Fraga.”
The mayor also pointed out that "most robbery crimes are committed by outsiders, by people who do not reside in our city."
