Fraga will showcase the agricultural landscape of the capital of Bajo Cinca on March 10th and 17th
The 7th Flowering Route and the 2nd Music Among the Flowers, activities that invite visitors to enjoy the colorful surroundings of the city, were presented this Monday at the Provincial Council of Huesca.
The orchards of Fraga reach their peak splendor at this time of year, when the trees blossom, painting the surroundings of the capital of the Bajo Cinca region pink. To showcase the beauty of these landscapes, the Fraga Town Council has once again organized the 'Fraga Blossom' initiative, which was presented this Monday at the Huesca Provincial Council and will take place on Sundays, March 10th and 17th.
The 7th Flowering Route and the 2nd Music Among the Flowers event—the latter recognized as one of the best tourist experiences in Aragon in 2023—make up the program for the 'Fraga Flowering' festival. At the presentation of this year's event, Verónica Alins emphasized that these activities "combine sport, culture, and tourism, but another very important factor is that they highlight the value of agriculture and its potential impact, not only in terms of fruit production but also as an attraction for visitors to a region like ours."
“For better or worse, these landscapes that paint the surroundings of our city pink only last a few weeks, so from here I want to encourage all the people of Alto Aragón to participate in the Fraga Flowering activities and visit our city,” commented the councilor, who participated in the press conference along with the vice president of the Provincial Council of Huesca, Celsa Rufas, and the head of the Fraga Tourist Office, Idoia Moreno.
For his part, Rufas emphasized that this initiative “allows us to enjoy the almost spring-like landscapes created by the thousands of hectares of fruit orchards surrounding a town like Fraga.” He also thanked the organizers for “having successfully leveraged the economic potential of the fruit sector in that area of the province to transform it into a tourist attraction.”
Finally, Idoia Moreno, who outlined the details of both activities, emphasized that 'Floración Fraga' consists of "highlighting agriculture, a sector that is linked to our heritage and our history."
The Flowering Route will feature three different itineraries: two for walking (15 and 9 kilometers) and one for cycling (9 kilometers). Idoia Moreno emphasized that these are “easy, flat, and accessible routes so that everyone can enjoy them.” This activity is free, although registration is required via the LINK . Registration will be open until March 7th.
Regarding the second annual Music Among the Flowers event, Moreno emphasized that it will be a sensory experience featuring various instruments, including a piano and a cello. He also expressed his gratitude for the collaboration of the students and teachers from the Music Institute and Professional Music Conservatory in making this activity possible.
VII Flowering Route (March 10)
This is a tour through the Fraga orchard, discovering the traditional rural environment of the city of Fraga, the cultivation of fruit trees and their flowering while enjoying the different colors they offer and learning about the different crops and varieties.
During the route, participants will find marked checkpoints where QR codes will provide information about the flowering season, the environment, different agricultural tasks, as well as answers to frequently asked questions…
All participants will be provided with a route map at the starting point, either in paper or digital format, and support staff will be available throughout the route. At the end, participants will be given water and a piece of fruit, and a space with music, entertainment, and children's games will be set up.
Three route options, all with the same starting and ending point, but with different schedules and distances.

Music Among the Flowers (March 17)
A sensory experience in which attendees will enjoy the surroundings, letting themselves be enveloped by the sounds that will be given through performances and musical interventions, creating a magical atmosphere, a sound space among the flowers, with the music acquiring a new dimension, integrating itself into the landscape.
For the second time, the collaboration of students and teachers from the Musical Institute and Professional Music Conservatory is requested for the development of this tourist experience, in order to highlight local talent and promote an approach to culture through this sensory experience that combines agriculture, natural environment and local heritage.
A 2 km walk through the Fraga region's orchards, where rural surroundings and music intertwine, creating unique soundscapes. Following this sensory stroll, you'll arrive at the performance space where, with the blooming fields as a backdrop, several musical performances will take place.
