In the Bajo/Baix Cinca region, several activities have been organized throughout the month.
In our region, the AECC Bajo Cinca has been working for years on cancer prevention and raising funds for research into the fight against this disease.
February 4th is World Cancer Day, and for this reason, activities have already begun this weekend throughout the Bajo/Baix Cinca region. The risk of unemployment increases by 34% among cancer survivors compared to the general population. Therefore, in several municipalities of the region, such as Ontiñena, Belver, Fraga, Ballobar, and Torrente de Cinca, symbolic human ribbons have been formed as a call to action for all social stakeholders to reduce the impact of cancer on patients' working lives.
On the other hand, together with the Fragatí Radio Club, an international activation was carried out with amateur radio operators from several countries, and at the last match of the Fraga Skating Club, a check for €1.000 was presented to the AECC (Spanish Association Against Cancer).
February 15th is International Childhood Cancer Day. Therefore, various activities and collaborations will continue throughout the month to support the fight against this disease.
To close out February, the 11th Race for Life will take place in Fraga. A large turnout of residents from across the region is expected once again on Sunday the 25th. This sporting, social, and charitable event maintains its commitment to fighting cancer, and all proceeds are invested in research projects of the AECC Scientific Foundation.
