The V16 is an accident pre-signaling device that replaces the classic triangles, to indicate that the vehicle has become immobilized on the road or that its load has fallen onto it.
The V16 connected and approved by the DGT will be the only legal hazard pre-signaling device from January 1, 2026.
With the aim of improving road safety and reducing accidents, the V16 device has been developed to replace traditional warning triangles and other lights currently in use. It is a small, yellow beacon equipped with connectivity and capable of emitting a high-intensity, 360° light intermittently and continuously for at least 30 minutes. It incorporates a battery with a minimum lifespan of 18 months, regardless of whether it is rechargeable or not.
The Fraga-based company Importaciones Galiano sells one of these approved and connected devices . The V16 devices must be geolocable, have the required lights, and be connected to the DGT ( Spanish Directorate General of Traffic ). The company, located in the Bajo Cinca region, has already begun marketing this product to businesses, large fleets, and brands that want to offer it to their customers and project an image of road safety . The Warnlight 3.0 GEO has been certified by the DGT since October 4, 2023.
This light should be kept in the glove compartment of your vehicle and, in the event of a breakdown or accident, can be activated in a matter of seconds, preferably by placing it on the roof of the vehicle. At that moment, in addition to emitting the warning light, it will connect to the DGT 3.0 platform to transmit its location in real time and alert other road users to the situation.
