The final stop of the SoNna Huesca Festival in the Bajo/Baix Cinca region will take place at the Bodega Valonga estate.
The festival organized by the Huesca Provincial Council visits the Bajo/Baix Cinca region for the third time this year. Following performances in Ballobar and the village of Cardiel in Fraga, the Valonga Estate in Belver de Cinca takes over as the venue for performances in our region.
Matthieu Saglio Quartet (France)
Thanks to his instantly recognizable sound and great versatility, Matthieu Saglio, a Frenchman based in Valencia, is one of the most exciting cellists of his generation. Classically trained, he pioneered the introduction of the cello into flamenco with the Jerez-Texas group, with whom he toured the world for 20 years, while also participating in a wide variety of projects.
The ensemble he will present at SoNna Huesca is the Matthieu Saglio Quartet, in which he will be accompanied by the French musicians Christian Belhomme (piano and keyboards) and Léo Ullmann (violin), and David Gadea from Valencia (percussion). Belhomme and Ullmann collaborated with Saglio on his latest work, Voices (2023), a selection of compositions blending jazz, classical, flamenco, and world music, which follows his acclaimed El camino de los vientos (2020), with over 8 million streams on Spotify.

The Valonga Estate
The Valonga Estate is an agricultural and biodiversity legacy worked over decades that paints a mosaic of vineyards, walnut trees, olive trees, almond trees and cereal crops in the landscape, with bodies of water scattered throughout its extensive domain on the right bank of the Cinca River.
A former Templar commandery, today it is a family-run agribusiness that directly markets its produce: Valonga walnuts, the red, white, and brut wines of Bodegas Valonga, and the Arbequina olive oils from Finca Valonga. Managed since 1931 by three generations of the same family, the estate already had its own vineyards and winery dating back to the early 19th century. In the 1980s, the vineyards were replanted and all the facilities were renovated.
The winery is strategically located in the heart of the vineyard, which covers 60 hectares. In 1994, Finca Valonga expanded its olive groves, and in 2003, it began cultivating walnut trees with its first plantings. The estate itself is a testament to the rich biodiversity and the balance between agriculture and nature.
We can access it from Binéfar via the A-1239 towards Alcolea de Cinca. After passing Esplús, at the height of Monte Julia, there is a signposted turnoff towards Valonga.
The day's program is twofold. Starting at 6:00 p.m., anyone interested can book a guided tour with wine tasting.
