The Spanish women's national roller hockey team has been crowned world champion at the World Skate Games held this week in Italy.
The Spanish team has won its eighth World Cup in convincing fashion, outperforming all its rivals. In the semifinals, they beat Argentina, one of the favorites, 4-0, and in the final, the national team overcame another of the competition's historic teams, Portugal, with a score of 2-0.
María Sanjurjo and Ana Ferrer, skaters from Club Patín Esneca Fraga , were part of the starting lineup that led Spain to the world championship title. Both athletes are members of the Bajo/Baix Cinca team that won the WSE Champions League last season and will begin their regular season shortly after the world championships.
The national team has excelled in all its matches. Spain's only setback was the first game of the tournament, where the players faced Chile, drawing 1-1 in the first group stage match. After that start, Spain defeated Great Britain 14-0, Italy 3-2, and France 8-2. In the semifinals, they beat Argentina 4-0, and in the final, they triumphed 2-0 over Portugal.
It so happens that in the semifinals, the CP Fraga players faced two other teammates from their league team , the Argentinians Adriana Soto and the newly incorporated Esneca club, Julieta Fernández.

Spain claimed another world championship trophy in Novara, further solidifying their global dominance and adding to their impressive record.
