Mequinenza has organized the 16th Hiking and Solidarity March and will donate all proceeds to the Spanish Association Against Cancer
It will take place on March 24th, with three routes of 3, 16, and 23 kilometers. Registration is open until March 20th.
The Mequinenza Town Hall has opened registration for the 16th Mequinenza Solidarity Hiking March, which will take place on Sunday, March 24th. Once again, all proceeds will be donated to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC). The organizers, in collaboration with various organizations and businesses, have planned three routes of 3, 16, and 23 kilometers. A light breakfast will be provided for all participants before the start of the march, along with up to four aid stations (depending on the chosen route), a commemorative gift for all participants, a 50% discount on admission to the Mequinenza Museums, and a snack at the finish line.
The walk will begin at 8:00 AM from the Capri Nautical Club, with the corresponding maximum time limits depending on the route. Participants will start towards Poble Vell (Old Town) through the "Portal" gate until reaching the Mequinenza Museums. At this point, the route splits: those on the "Dorsal 0" route will return to the starting point, while the short and long routes will continue along the Ebro Bridge, skirting the Mequinenza reservoir towards "Auts." At this point, the short and long routes diverge. Those on the short route will return to the starting point, descending through the "Barranc del Metge" ravine, while those on the long route will continue along paths between farms with traditional dryland and irrigated crops before returning to the starting point via the "Val Carnés" ravine.
Registrations, which cost 10 euros with a 3 euro discount for members, can be completed until March 20th online at www.mequinenza.es or in the traditional way, by filling out the registration form and sending it, along with proof of payment, to fax number 974 465 053 or by email to senderista@mequinenza.com.
