The 6th Mequinenza Half Triathlon will take place on July 14th

Half Mequinenza

This year's route will have some changes due to the start of roadworks on the A-1411, through which the cycling section runs, and the sediment mobilization tests at the Municipal Regatta Course, where the swimming section will take place.

Those interested in participating in the 6th Mequinenza Half Triathlon have until July 10th to register . The event, organized by the Mequinenza Town Hall and the Mequinenza Triathlon Club, will serve as the Aragon Half-Distance Triathlon Championship and counts towards the National Half-Distance and Long-Distance Triathlon Ranking and the Ibercaja Triathlon Club League. It will take place on July 14th over a 103-kilometer course divided into three segments: a 1.900-meter swim, an 80,2-kilometer bike ride, and a 21-kilometer run.

The main change participants will encounter concerns the course, which will undergo slight modifications due to roadworks on the A-1411 between Mequinenza and Maella, affecting the cycling section, and sediment mobilization tests being carried out in the Segre Riverbed at the Municipal Regatta Course, which will affect the swimming section. These changes have already been anticipated by the organizers and will be finalized after upcoming coordination meetings with the companies carrying out the work. The aim is to determine the definitive course based on the conditions expected on the date of the 6th Mequinenza Half Triathlon.

Registration will be formalized through the website of the Aragonese Triathlon Federation and the price ranges from 60 euros for the first 100 registered participants, to 150 euros for the 200th and beyond. The 2024 edition of this sporting event will distribute 7.300 euros in cash prizes distributed as follows: 1.600 euros for first place, 1.000 for second, 600 for third, and 300 and 150 euros for fourth and fifth place, respectively, for both the male and female categories.
