Yesterday, Monday, April 8, the program for the Day of La Faldeta 2024 was presented, the only festival of National Tourist Interest in the Bajo/Baix Cinca region and one of the few in the province of Huesca.
In this edition, the Plaza de España will regain its prominence, and the main events will return to this location after the complete renovation of the area, which was inaugurated last year. The program has been reorganized to be more appealing to tourists, as explained by Verónica Alins, the councilor for the area. The Wedding Parade will have a new route and stages so that visitors can better enjoy the performances. The photo opportunities will take place on Saturday, and Sunday is reserved for the parade and the traditional wedding in Fraga. The sets used on Saturday will remain in place for the rest of the weekend so that everyone—residents and visitors alike—can take pictures with their favorite setting. The short comic play will be performed on April 14th, giving it its own distinct character and prominence. With these and other measures, the Fraga City Council aims to create a more complete experience so that visitors can enjoy several days of activities in Fraga.
On the other hand, one of the names that has already generated the most excitement is that of Lorenzo Caprile , tailor and presenter of the TVE program " Maestros de la Costura " (Masters of Sewing). The Councilor for Culture, María José Barrafón, stated that "it has been a challenge" to bring Lorenzo to our city to give the lecture, organized by the Amics de Fraga association and the Fraga City Council. "Given that he is a master of 18th-century costumes, we will have the opportunity to demonstrate to him what our centuries-old clothing is all about," she said, adding that "the people of Fraga have always shown great interest in its dissemination, passionately and proudly promoting our Fraga costume, our culture, and our traditions thanks to the women who wear the traditional skirts, who have taught us to appreciate the meaning of the garments and how they are worn."
