On August 28th, 'El Nido' will perform at Finca Valonga in Belver de Cinca, and on the 30th, 'Terrae' will be at La Sierra Park in Ballobar.
The SoNna Huesca festival arrives this week in the Bajo/Baix Cinca region with two musical offerings that will bring the sounds of Castilian-Leonese and Terres de l'Ebre traditions to the area. The performances will take place on Friday, August 28th at the Finca Valonga in Belver de Cinca and on Sunday, August 30th at the La Sierra Forest Park in Ballobar.
El Nido will perform at the Valonga Estate in Belver de Cinca
The first event will be this Friday, August 28, at the Valonga Estate in Belver de Cinca, where the Burgos-based band El Nido will offer two performances, at 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., with a limited capacity of 300 people.
The group presents their new work, La Constancia , at SoNna Huesca , an album with ten songs in which they revisit the traditional music of Castilla y León from a contemporary perspective, without losing the essence of the popular rhythms and sounds.
Agudillos, jotas de ronda, ajechaos and charros are mixed with instruments linked to oral tradition in a proposal that combines folklore and current sounds.
El Nido was formed at the University of Salamanca by several musicians from Burgos united by their passion for the lands of Castile and León and for traditional music. The group debuted in 2020 with Huella y Camino and subsequently released Refugios a Cielo Abierto in 2022, before presenting La Constancia this year.
Visit and tasting at Bodega Valonga
The day in Valonga will also include a pre-concert activity. At 6:00 p.m., a guided tour of the winery facilities is scheduled, including a walk through the estate and the winery, as well as a wine tasting.
The activity costs €6 and has limited capacity. Tickets for the visit can be purchased through the Bodega Valonga website.
Terrae will bring the sounds of the Terres de l'Ebre to Ballobar
The second SoNna Huesca event in the Bajo/Baix Cinca region will take place on Sunday, August 30th, at 7:30 pm in La Sierra Forest Park in Ballobar. The concert will be performed by Terrae, a Catalan duo comprised of Andreu Peral and Genís Bagés.
Their musical approach draws on the stories, heritage, and identity of the Terres de l'Ebre region, with the Ebro River and its landscapes as a guiding thread. Terrae blends tradition and contemporary sounds, incorporating synthesizers, voice effects, loops, and samplers alongside vocals and percussion.
The duo will present their first full-length album, Nostre gra , a work that vindicates the customs, speech and identity of a territory through a proposal that connects past and present.
The concert in Ballobar will have a maximum capacity of 300 people.
With these two performances, SoNna Huesca once again places the Bajo/Baix Cinca region within its program, with two open-air stages and proposals linked to the musical tradition of different territories.
