The facilities already welcome students from the vocational training programs of the IES Bajo Cinca and Ramón J. Sender schools, and will hold an open house this Saturday.
The newly renovated San José de Calasanz school reopened its doors this Thursday morning following the completion of a comprehensive building renovation. The building, which had been vacant since 2006, has resumed its educational activities as a vocational training center, now housing the programs previously offered at the Bajo Cinca and Ramón J. Sender secondary schools.
The first students in these programs are already using the renovated center, a strategic initiative aimed at boosting educational opportunities and responding to the demands of the local business community . Currently, the San José de Calasanz center offers Basic Vocational Training in Electricity, Intermediate Vocational Training in Electromechanical Maintenance, Advanced Vocational Training in Industrial Mechatronics, and Intermediate Vocational Training in Care for Dependent Persons. Throughout the academic year, the Intermediate Vocational Training in Administrative Management, Advanced Vocational Training in Administration and Finance, and Advanced Vocational Training in Marketing and Advertising are expected to be added. As for student enrollment, 240 students are currently studying in the various vocational training programs offered in Fraga.

The project represents an investment of over three million euros . The City Council secured a grant of 1,8 million euros from European Funds for its financing . The works respected the original 1.800-square-meter structure and incorporated improvements in energy efficiency and climate control, as well as a renovated access from Avenida de los Deportes.
The mayor of Fraga, Ignacio Gramún, has stated that “with the reopening of San José de Calasanz we achieve a double objective: on the one hand, we rescue from abandonment an emblematic building that had been closed for two decades, improving the entrance to our city; on the other hand, we take a qualitative leap in Vocational Training .”
“These new facilities offer our young people a modern and well-equipped environment, essential for developing the talent demanded by companies in the municipality and strengthening the productive fabric of the Bajo Cinca region ,” said Gramún, who pointed out that “achieving this important milestone for our city and our residents has not been easy, as it has required a great deal of work and close coordination between the Fraga City Council, the Government of Aragon, and the two Fraga high schools.”
With the aim of allowing residents to see the results of the work, the City Council and the Ramón J. Sender and Bajo Cinca Secondary Schools have organized an Open Day for this Saturday, September 12, from 10:00 to 12:00.
