The center will begin its Vocational Training course this Thursday with its first students after the building's restoration.

The Fraga Town Council, the Bajo Cinca Secondary School, and the Ramón J. Sender Secondary School have organized an open house this Saturday, September 12th, at the newly renovated San José de Calasanz school building . From 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, residents will be able to tour and learn more about this iconic municipal facility following the completion of its restoration.

The reopening of the building coincides with the start of the Vocational Training academic year, scheduled for this Thursday. The building, which had been unused since 2006, has undergone a complete renovation with an investment exceeding three million euros. The work has transformed the space into a modern 1.800-square-meter educational facility , equipped with air conditioning in all classrooms and adapted to current energy efficiency standards.

At the start of this academic year, the first students will move into the new classrooms . At IES Ramón J. Sender, classes will begin for students in the Basic Vocational Training program in Electricity, the Intermediate Vocational Training program in Electromechanical Maintenance, and the Advanced Vocational Training program in Industrial Mechatronics. Meanwhile, IES Bajo Cinca will relocate its Intermediate Vocational Training program in Care for Dependent Persons to the new facilities. It is expected that the remaining vocational training programs offered by Bajo Cinca will gradually move in throughout the current academic year.

The mayor of Fraga, Ignacio Gramún, praised the impact of the opening for the town: “The restoration of this building is a major milestone for our city. Not only are we bringing back to life a space that had been abandoned for nearly two decades , but we are also strengthening the Vocational Training offerings in Fraga, providing our young people with top-notch facilities for their learning and ensuring that local businesses have access to qualified professionals .”

With this initiative, Fraga reclaims a historic space for public education and strengthens the municipality's educational infrastructure. "This project was one of the most important and ambitious for our city, and it is absolutely gratifying to see it become a reality this week, serving Fraga with the long-awaited arrival of the first students to the facilities," Gramún stated.
