Toyota consolidates its dominance in Spanish vehicle registrations
The Japanese brand remains the undisputed benchmark for private buyers in Spain. In the first two months of 2026, Toyota sold 15.582 units, surpassing long-standing competitors like Seat and Renault.
This commercial success is primarily driven by its hybrid range. The Toyota Corolla remains the most popular model, closely followed by the C-HR and the Yaris Cross. These results demonstrate that self-charging hybrid technology continues to be the preferred option in the Spanish market, offering a balance between efficiency and range compared to fully electric vehicles.

BMW and the new era of premium mobility
In the premium segment, BMW is leading the most significant technological shift of March 2026. The German firm has marked a milestone with the official presentation of the first fully electric 3 Series, a strategic move to compete in the sustainable luxury sedan segment.
This launch coincides with the arrival of the new BMW iX3 at Spanish dealerships, strengthening its zero-emissions vehicle lineup. To boost its competitiveness, the brand has implemented a new after-sales policy in Spain that includes warranty extensions of up to 5 years, putting it on par with Asian manufacturers in terms of trust and reliability.
Safety and consumer trends: The end of diesel
The mobility landscape in Spain shows an irreversible shift. Diesel fuel has fallen to historic lows, representing barely 4% of the current market share. Conversely, electrified vehicles now account for almost 73% of total sales.
In the area of road safety, the integration of ISA (Intelligent Speed Assistance) systems under the new European regulations is noteworthy. BMW stands out in this area for having achieved a technological integration that prioritizes user safety without compromising the driving experience, a key factor in evaluating new driver assistance systems.
