The rider from the Mequinenza Cycling Club participated in 6 of the 9 races of the competition, confirming the final victory with a first place in the last race held in the town of Riodeva in Teruel.
Marcos Soler, from Mequinenza, has secured first place in the 2024 XCM Mountain Bike Cup in the Elite-23 category. The competition, organized by the Aragonese Cycling Federation, kicked off in Calatayud on March 9th with the Far West Race. The Cup calendar consisted of a total of nine races, the last and decisive being the 9th Titánica Riodeva MTB, held on August 31st in the town of Riodeva, Teruel, where Soler was crowned champion.
The rider from the Mequinenza Cycling Club, who participated in 6 of the events that made up the Cup, came to this last event with a slight advantage of only 8 points over Diego Lorente, from the Turolense Cycling Club, and 18 over Jorge Repulles, from the Rio Ucero Cycling Federated Sports Club, whom he had overtaken in the general classification after achieving a third place in the eighth event of the calendar, the II Ariza Bike Race Barrancos Hondos held on June 16.
Soler began the competition gradually improving, with a twelfth place in the III Jurassic Race of Ricla held on March 17, a seventh place in the I Melocotón Embolsado de Calanda XCM on April 28, a second place in the XI BTT Cuencabuena on May 4, a fourth place in the VIII Brujas Bike of Jabaloyas on May 19, a third place in Ariza and a first place in Riodeva, sixth overall, which certified the achievement of the XCM By Cyclon Zaragoza 2024 Cup in the Elite-23 category.
