The coach from Fraga will be part of the Lleida team in the U22 League , a competition organized by the ACB and the FEB, which brings together young talents linked to elite Spanish basketball clubs.
Fraga's sporting community will be represented this season in one of the highest-level youth basketball competitions in Spain. Ramón Navarro joins the coaching staff of Amara Lleida U22 , where he will serve as head coach and team manager during the 2026/27 season.
The Ilerna Lleida team will compete for the second consecutive year in the U22 League , a competition jointly organized by the ACB and the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB), with the aim of offering young players a highly demanding environment and facilitating their development towards professional basketball.
For Navarro, this represents a new step in a career spanning more than two decades in basketball and youth development. The coach from Fraga has spent part of his career with clubs such as Peña Fragatina, Força Lleida, and Lucentum Alicante.
A project linked to the ACB environment
The U22 League is entering its second season with 14 teams divided into two groups . Amara Lleida has been placed in Group B along with Kids&Us Manresa, Joventut Badalona, Bilbao Basket, UCAM Murcia Juver, Unicaja Alhaurín de la Torre, and Obradoiro CAB.
The team will be led by Borja Comenge , a coach with experience in professional basketball and in top-level club structures.
The first phase will consist of 14 double round-robin matchdays. At the end, the top team in Group B will have the opportunity to be promoted to Group A for the second phase, while playoff matches will also be held to determine other teams that will compete in the higher group.
The team also has a player from Fraga
Furthermore, according to some fans, Iván Montull, from Fraga, plays for the Catalan team, with a prominent role. This is Montull's second season with Lleida, meaning there are now two players from Fraga on the Lleida roster.
The Amara Lleida calendar
The Liga U will begin on September 25th , although Amara Lleida will have a bye in the first round. Their debut will be on Friday, October 2nd , at 19:45 pm, at Bilbao Basket's home court.
The first home game will be a week later, on October 9 at 20:30 p.m. , against UCAM Murcia Juver at the Espai Fruita Barris Nord in Lleida.
The season will conclude with the Final 6, scheduled for May 13-16, 2027 , in which the competition champion will be decided.
The addition of Ramón Navarro thus represents a new professional challenge for the coach from Fraga and places him within a project that directly connects youth basketball with the structures of the Spanish elite.
