Club Patín Esneca Fraga was eliminated this Saturday in the semifinals of the Queen's Cup of roller hockey after losing 0-2 against CP Vila-sana Coop d'Ivars.
The match was very evenly contested for much of the game, although the Lleida side managed to take the lead in the first half. With 10:08 remaining in the first half, Luciana Agudo scored to put Vila-sana ahead 1-0, a goal that gave the Catalan team the advantage going into the break.
The match was marked by intense defense and numerous fouls called, especially against the Fraga team. Vila-sana also had a direct free kick in the early stages of the game, but Aina Florenza failed to convert it.
In the second half, Esneca Fraga pressed for an equalizer, but Vila-sana struck again with 8:34 remaining. Gimena Gómez scored to make it 0-2, putting the Lleida side firmly in control of qualification.
The Fraga team still had a great opportunity to get back into the game. With 4:18 remaining, the referee awarded a penalty to Esneca Fraga, but Aina Arxé failed to convert the shot.
With this result, CP Vila-sana Coop d'Ivars will play in the final of the Queen's Cup, while Club Patín Esneca Fraga ends its participation in the semifinals.
