The alleged perpetrator had committed 12 counts of burglary on agricultural plots and another 3 counts of theft, with an estimated value of €5.000.
Agents from the ROCA Team of the Civil Guard of Fraga, arrested a person on May 29 as the alleged perpetrator of 12 crimes of robbery with force and another 3 of theft, which occurred in various agricultural plots in the municipality of Fraga.
The events had been occurring between January and May of this year, and were reported by the victims to the ROCA Team of the Civil Guard of Fraga, stating that unknown perpetrator(s) were stealing tools, copper wiring, brass plumbing parts and atomizer controls among other items from several agricultural plots in the municipality.
Once the initial steps to clarify the facts were initiated, the agents realized that they were related to each other, both in the modus operandi and the similarity in the stolen items, being minor robberies and thefts in numerous plots located in the municipality of Fraga.
Following the checks and investigations carried out by the investigators, on May 29, the agents of the ROCA Team of Fraga proceeded to arrest a 71-year-old man and resident of the Bajo Cinca region.
Among his belongings were found various tools and implements intended for forcing doors and windows to gain access to the properties, as well as various brass pieces and copper wiring.
The alleged perpetrator, due to his extensive knowledge of the rural area, traveled around it by bicycle, approaching the properties in the early morning and using various tools, forced windows and doors to gain access to the interior.
The value of the stolen items would amount to about €5.000, part of which was recovered and returned to its owners.
The ROCA Team of the Civil Guard of Fraga prepared proceedings that were delivered to the Court of Instruction No. 1 of Fraga, leaving the accused free, with the obligation to appear before the Judicial Authority when required.
