HC Palau de Plegamans defeated the Aragonese team at the Sotet Pavilion (2-7)
CP Esneca Fraga played the first match of the title final at home, against Palau de Plegamans, the first-placed team and current champion of the Queen's Cup.
Jordi Capdevila's team was looking for a favorable result to seal the tie at the Palau, but the scoreline didn't go their way. The visiting team was superior and scored 7 goals, six of them by Laura Puigdueta, compared to Esneca's two.
Plegamans took a 0-2 lead in just five minutes with two well-taken goals. Adriana Soto pulled one back with a free kick. But Palau scored two more goals almost consecutively before halftime (1-4). In the second half, Fraga narrowed the gap again with a goal from Vinyet Flix (2-4), but Palau de Plegamans proved superior this time. Puigdueta scored Palau's first six goals (2-6), and Aina Florenza added the final goal, sealing the victory at 2-7.
Fraga faces a difficult, though not impossible , task: to overturn this result. The second leg will be played on Thursday, June 13th, in Catalonia. If the Aragonese team manages to win, the OK Liga Iberdrola final will be decided in a third match.
CP Esneca Fraga already managed to turn things around in the qualifying phase for the Champions League final, after falling on the Italian Roller Matera court in the first game, and the Fraga fans are confident of repeating that feat.
