The Councillor for Municipal Services, Verónica Martos, has given a “very positive” assessment of the repainting plan, which has allowed for a “coherent and orderly” planning of the maintenance of horizontal road markings, according to the council.
According to the Fraga City Council, the road markings in the historic center and along the N-II highway up to kilometer marker 439,5 were renewed this July. These works, part of the horizontal road marking maintenance contract, are subject to the annual repainting and maintenance plan developed in 2022, which allows for better planning of road markings throughout the city. Thanks to this program, regular repainting has been guaranteed in all areas of the capital of the Bajo Cinca region in recent years, optimizing municipal resources.
Regarding the repainting plan, these works correspond to zone 3 of lot 2 of the contract - which includes zones 3 and 4 - which was awarded to the company Señalizaciones Jica Andaluza SL for 55.567,80 euros (VAT included).
The next area to be painted, in 2025 as established by the repainting and maintenance plan, will be area 4, which includes the neighborhoods of Miralsot, Litera and San Simón and the Sup-7 industrial park.
The Councillor for Municipal Services, Verónica Martos, explained that “the planning for the maintenance of road markings was initiated during the previous legislature and had never been done before. After these first two years of the program, a very positive assessment can be made because it is the first time that our streets have been painted in an orderly, coherent manner and with a balance between the different areas, which in turn allows for savings in resources.”
Finally, the delegate for Municipal Services explained that “next year work will be carried out in the neighborhoods and in the Sup-7 area, so that the repainting will have reached all corners of Fraga in a rational and staggered manner, which demonstrates the effectiveness of this plan with which action is taken equally in all areas of the city.”
