The Lapislázuli children's park and the nativity scene by Belenistas de Fraga were the activities with the highest public attendance.
Through a press release, the Fraga council has reported on the data relating to the activities of the ' Give Fraga, give city ' program of the 2023/24 Christmas campaign.
The Fraga City Council reports that over 18.000 people participated in the Christmas activities organized in the city during this period, confirming the overwhelming success of the Christmas campaign among the residents of Fraga and the surrounding area. The Christmas program, promoted with the slogan "Give Fraga, give the city," ran from December 1st, with the traditional lighting of the Christmas lights, until January 8th. The activities catered to all ages, from games for children to a literary event with writer Manuel Vilas, a motorcycle parade with Santa Claus, and a trip to Zaragoza to visit the exhibition "Clothing with Memory: Fraga and its Women."
The activities that have drawn the largest crowds during this period have been the Nativity Scene in Fraga, organized by the Fraga Nativity Scene Association, and the Lapislázuli Children's Park, which made its long-awaited return after being suspended due to the pandemic. According to the press release, more than 6.000 people visited the traditional Nativity Scene in Fraga, which was set up in Casa Cabrera, while 5.3000 children enjoyed the play park from December 26th to January 4th.
Following these two events, the third most popular was the 27th edition of the Living Nativity Scene in homage to So Salvadó Montull, organized by the Junior Fraga association. In a single day, this human nativity scene, performed by the young members of the organization, attracted 2.000 visitors across two performances.
In addition to Lapislázuli, the younger attendees were also able to enjoy other activities such as the 'In Search of…' treasure hunt, which brought together more than 600 people on Saturday, December 16, the Fair of the Impossible with Dani García and Civi Civiac, the Pirate Fair, and the 'Christmas of Movies and Popcorn' film series, which screened ten films in the auditorium of the IES Ramón J. Sender.
In the cultural sphere, Fraga hosted concerts by the Fraga Choir and the Municipal Band, a piano recital by Joan Ramón Salamó, and a New Year's concert featuring performances by Miguel Ángel Tapia, Nacho del Río, and Beatriz Gimeno. Additionally, Manuel Vilas, a writer from Barbastro, presented his novel 'Nosotros' (Us), which won the Nadal Prize last year.
The mayor of Fraga, Ignacio Gramún, expressed his satisfaction with “ the large number of activities that have taken place during these weeks, in which a great many residents of Fraga, as well as those from surrounding towns, have participated .” “ The 'Give Fraga, Give the City' program has engaged both adults and children and has ensured that during these special holidays we had such interesting activities as those that were prepared ,” the mayor commented.
