Part 2 of the project is being put out to tender for more than two million euros, and the deadline for submitting bids is September 11th.
The Cinca Revive project, which aims to restore the Cinca River ecosystem and reduce flood risk in the urban area of Fraga, continues to progress with the awarding of the first two actions and the launch of tenders for four more . This week, the execution of actions B5 and B6 was awarded to Natura Constructiva SL for a total of €138.901,96, and the second phase of the project, which includes actions B7, B8, B9, and B10, was put out to tender for €2.039.447,11 . The deadline for submitting bids for this second tender is September 11.
The actions planned in section 2 consist of the setback of levees, the restoration of the river ecosystem , which in turn includes the opening of channels, the clearing of vegetation, the elimination of non-native specimens, the collection and removal of waste from the riverbed and banks , the opening of maintenance roads, maintenance work and the planting of native species.
Meanwhile, with actions B5 and B6 recently awarded, work will be carried out to clean the undergrowth, eliminate the non-native reedbed, revegetate and create a naturalist trail.
The Councillor for Urban Planning, Esther Rubio, has stated that “with these new procedures we are moving forward with a project that is truly important for Fraga, and as I have said on other occasions, it is crucial for the safety of our city in the face of the risk of floods . ”
The CINCA Revive project is supported by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
