The meeting took place within the framework of the 10th Aragonese Simulated Business Fair, which brought together more than 600 students at the Cortes de Aragón Pavilion in Fraga. The City Council described the meeting as " fruitful ."
The Fraga council has reported the details of the meeting, as well as Mallada's visit to the CEIP Miguel Servet school and his attendance at the aforementioned fair, through a press release.
The mayor of Fraga, Ignacio Gramún, met this Wednesday with the Director General of Planning, Centers, and Vocational Training of the Government of Aragon, Luis Mallada, to further the collaboration on rehabilitating the old building of the San José de Calasanz Primary School. This second meeting between the two institutions to discuss the project took place within the framework of the 10th Aragonese Simulated Business Fair, held at the Cortes de Aragón Pavilion in Fraga, where more than 600 students from this educational field gathered.
Gramún said that “the meeting was fruitful and, although it is still too early to specify progress because it was the second meeting, the willingness of the general director Luis Mallada to work for this project, which is so important and vital for our city, was evident.”
“I reiterate that the rehabilitation of the old San José de Calasanz school is a city project and a crucial undertaking for the educational community, our business sector, and undoubtedly, all our young people,” Gramún emphasized, adding that collaboration between the Fraga City Council and the Government of Aragon is “essential” to “resolve an issue that has been stalled for twenty years.”
The rehabilitation of the old building of the Ceip San José de Calasanz, whose cost amounts to about three million euros, has a subsidy of 1,8 million from the Next Generation Funds of the European Union.
Gramún and Mallada visit the Ceip Miguel Servet
Following the meeting, Gramún and Mallada visited the Miguel Servet Primary School, where the Director General taught for several years in the 1990s. The head of Vocational Training for the regional government learned firsthand about the current situation at the school and shared memories with some of his former colleagues.
Six hundred students from Aragon get to know Fraga and his companies
The more than 600 students who participated in the 10th Aragonese Simulated Business Fair were able to explore the city of Fraga, from its most iconic tourist attractions, such as the recently restored Cultural Heritage Site, the Ice Well, to several of the companies that make up Fraga's productive sector. The young people attended presentations by the companies Intucinca and Rigual and visited Becton Dickinson and Frutas David.
These workshops, organized by students in the Administration and Management module, aim to enhance their understanding of the tasks an administrative technician performs in their daily work. The event, organized by the Aragon Center for Innovation in Vocational Training (CIFPA) in collaboration with the IES Bajo Cinca and the Fraga City Council, allows students to "improve their communication skills," as CIFPA advisor Juan Francisco Andreu explained at the press conference announcing the fair.
Mayor Ignacio Gramún expressed his gratitude for “the collaboration of all parties involved in developing this initiative, from the technicians of the Fraga City Council who have been behind it to the General Directorate of Vocational Training through Cifpa and IES Bajo Cinca, which has done a great organizational job.”
