From April 15th to 19th, the Santa Ana School in Fraga hosted an exciting Erasmus+ meeting focused on the project "Children in the Climate Crisis." This project, which brought together participants from six European countries (Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Italy, Poland, and Spain), aimed to explore how to address climate issues in the classroom.
The week was packed with educational and practical activities designed to raise students' awareness of the importance of caring for our planet. From recycling workshops to a digital photo mural, students actively participated in activities designed to foster their commitment to the environment.
One of the highlights was the installation of CO2 monitors at the school, as well as the creation of visual representations of global warming zones. In addition, CO2 measurements were taken in the city of Fraga, as well as in Zaragoza and Barcelona, to gather data on air quality in different urban environments.
All the data collected during the week will be analyzed by experts from the University of Bonn, Germany, who will prepare an official report on the impact of climate change in the participating cities. This report will be crucial for better understanding the challenges we face and taking effective steps to address them.
Santa Ana School in Fraga is proud to have participated in this international initiative and hopes that the lessons learned during Erasmus+ week will inspire its students to become environmental advocates and leaders in the fight against climate change. The next meeting will be held in Estonia in the fall of 2024.
