Jordi Sarrau, a member of the Rondalla de Peña Fragatina, was unable to make it through the last gala, while Julia Cruz continues in the program.
In 2023, Lorena Margalló from Fraga won the regional television program. In this new season, two contestants from the Bajo Cinca region have tried their luck on the Aragón TV talent show , although one has already been eliminated.
Jordi Sarrau's heart is torn between flamenco and jota . He began singing at the age of eight with the Rondalla de la Peña Fragatina, under the tutelage of his teacher, José Antonio Villellas, and as a child, he participated in several competitions, winning important prizes, such as the Huesca Jota Competition. For him, being on this program has been a dream come true. Being on set, experiencing the sound and the intensity of all those emotions is a unique experience, explains the singer from Fraga. On the other hand, the pressure is also very strong , " especially for those of us who come from the world of jota and haven't sung songs accompanied by a band or had any formal musical training, " Jordi points out.
Despite not making it past the final gala, Sarrau feels happy and grateful to the program for the experience. " I'll never forget my performance of Camarón de la Isla's Alegrías that I did with my teacher Rubén Jiménez in the first gala. I had never sung flamenco before, and it was incredible ..." Jordi also wanted to express his gratitude to the people, teachers, the amazing musicians on the show, the production staff, and, of course, his fellow contestants. " I've met people with different styles than my own who have enriched me both musically and personally, and I won't forget that ."
Julia Cruz, from Fraga, who is still on JotAlent, is a local artist . This woman from Fraga, with maternal ties to the town of Graus, is becoming a favorite with the Aragonese public. She joined the program because she is starting to perform a significant number of concerts in Aragon, featuring both her own songs and covers. She is also beginning to compose in Ribagorzano, the language of her mother and grandmother, and sings her own compositions in the Catalan dialect of the Aragonese border region.
For Julia, the program was an opportunity to learn the folklore of her land and then apply it to her compositions, expanding her knowledge in this art.
Meeting musicians and singers from Aragon , as well as exploring the cultural scene of our region, has been another motivation for signing up for the talent show. She's a fan of musical reality shows and is finding it to be a very enjoyable and fun experience. " I've met some really cool people, made friends, and well, we'll see what happens ," Julia says casually.
This Sunday we won't be able to see Jordi, but Julia will be paired with Nem in the gala that will be broadcast on Sunday at 21:30 p.m. on Aragón TV, as every week.
