The Civil Guard and the National Police dismantle a criminal organization and seize 36 kilos of cocaine in an operation with raids in Ourense, Madrid and Fraga
One person has been arrested in Fraga as part of a joint operation by the Civil Guard and the National Police that has dismantled a criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking and has resulted in five arrests and the seizure of 36 kilograms of cocaine.
The actions, carried out within the framework of the operations PLATEVO OU , by the Civil Guard, and MANCUNCHO , by the National Police, have included five house searches in different locations in Ourense and Madrid, in addition to the action related to the person arrested in Fraga.
An organization dedicated to drug distribution
The investigation began in early 2025, when the State Security Forces and Corps became aware of activities related to drug trafficking in the province of Ourense.
According to information provided by the Civil Guard, the organization was responsible for collecting the drugs in ports, subsequently storing them and distributing them to different points throughout the national territory.
They used vehicles with modified fuel tanks, known as "hidden compartments," for transport . In one of these vehicles, 36 kilos of cocaine were found , and one person was arrested.
Five arrested and five searches
In total, the operation has resulted in five people being arrested : one in Ourense city, another in Seixalbo (Ourense), a third in Fraga (Huesca) and two in Valdemoro (Madrid).
During the exploitation phase, five home searches were carried out in Seixalbo, Allariz and Ourense capital , in the province of Ourense, and in Aldea del Fresno and Valdemoro , in Madrid.
During the searches , a firearm was seized , in addition to several backpacks used for transporting drugs by sea.
The operation also represents a continuation of an action carried out on May 30 in Asturias , in which 6,5 kilos of cocaine were seized and two people linked to the now dismantled organization were arrested.
The investigation has been carried out by the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Ourense Civil Guard Command, together with the Customs Surveillance Operational Unit of the AEAT and the Provincial Brigade of the Judicial Police of the National Police of Ourense.
