The men's team of Club Pádel Fraga suffered an unexpected setback this weekend in the fourth round of the Aragonese Third Division, falling 1-2 to CT María de Huerva at the Fraga Sports Complex. The home team entered the match aiming to regain their competitive edge and fielded three strong pairs, but the game ultimately went to the visitors after a decisive third match.
The tie started favorably for the Fraga team . In the first match, Marc Tejedor, one of the team's key players, partnered with left-hander Álex Ruiz, one of the season's standout signings. They delivered a solid and flawless performance to defeat Chico and Torres 6-3, 6-4, giving Club Pádel Fraga a 1-0 lead.
However, the second match changed the course of the encounter. Gonzalo Carrasquer and Juanjo Florensa, one of the team's most reliable pairs in recent seasons, were surprised by Pérez and Onde. The Fraga players never found their rhythm on the court and ended up losing in three sets: 6-4, 4-6, 6-0, with the final set clearly dominated by the visiting pair.
With the tie tied, the third match proved decisive. Alberto Carrasquer and Gerard Mercadé started strong, taking the first set 6-4. However, García and Elvira's comeback changed the course of the match. The visiting pair reduced their errors and adopted a lob-based game that disrupted the home team's rhythm. Winning the next two sets 6-3 and 6-2, CT María de Huerva secured the 2-1 victory.
Club Pádel Fraga will be looking to regain their form in the next round
The team will travel to Aínsa to face a rival that achieved promotion last season and whom the Fragatinos defeated in both encounters of the last season.
The club's teams will also be in action in the Inter-Regional League. The women's team will host the current champions, Gastropadel Huesca, on Saturday at 16:30 p.m., weather permitting. Meanwhile, the senior and junior teams will play at home on Sunday against Dys B and Etoclima, respectively, also at the Fraga Sports Complex.
