The Ministry of Defense has announced 4.527 places in Spain for access to the status of Troop and Seaman in the Army, the Navy and the Air Force and Space.
In Aragon, 705 places are available , 87 of which are in the province of Huesca . The deadline for applications is February 22, 2026.
27 places in Huesca and 60 in Jaca
In the province of Alto Aragón, the Army offers:
- 27 places in Huesca, for the 1st Signal Regiment, located in the Sancho Ramírez barracks.
- 60 places in Jaca, for the Mountain Hunters Infantry Regiment “Galicia 64”, based at the La Victoria barracks.
The Signals Regiment carries out functions related to telecommunications, IT and cybersecurity, while the Galicia 64 is specialized in mountain operations.
Both units participate in international missions. Currently, personnel from the Signals Regiment are deployed in Latvia, Slovakia, Iraq, and Lebanon, and personnel from Galicia 64 are scheduled for a future deployment to Lebanon.
705 places in Aragon
Of the total number of autonomous communities:
- 582 places correspond to the Army (27 in Huesca, 60 in Jaca and 495 in Zaragoza).
- 123 places are for the Air Force and Space, intended for units located at the Zaragoza Air Base.
The Navy is offering 693 positions across the country, although none in Aragon.
Of the 582 positions in the Army in the community, 53 can be requested by Hispanic American citizens and citizens of Equatorial Guinea , who in this call will be able to opt for both operational and technical and logistical units.
Professional profile and new developments in testing
According to the Ministry of Defense, the call for applications responds to the renewal of personnel and the demands of the current international operational context, with more than 4.000 Spanish military personnel deployed in 15 countries.
The selection process incorporates a comprehensive reform of the physical tests , maintaining differentiated standards by sex and adapting the exercises to a standard considered more functional.
In addition, 33 places include a specific scale for High Level Athletes , with the aim of facilitating their access to the Armed Forces.
Requirements and selection process
To be eligible for the positions, you must:
- Have Spanish nationality or nationality of one of the 18 countries with an agreement with Spain.
- Be 18 years old or turn 18 before May 4, 2026, and not have turned 29 before that date.
- To be in possession, at least, of the title of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO).
- Pass the corresponding physical tests.
The process consists of two phases.
The first stage assesses academic and professional merits (competitive examination) and includes an aptitude test (examination). The final grade is calculated using a weighted average: 70% corresponds to the examination and 30% to the merit assessment.
The second phase includes psychological tests, medical examination (Fit/Unfit) and physical tests.
