The officers detected two vans parked on the shoulder of the AP-2 motorway transporting approximately 4.854 kg of copper telephone wiring
The ROCA Team of the Civil Guard Company of Fraga, in collaboration with officers of the Traffic Detachment of the Civil Guard of Fraga, proceeded to arrest four people, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of receiving copper telephone wiring, which occurred in the municipality of Fraga.
In the early morning of March 20, agents from the Traffic Detachment of the Civil Guard of Fraga, in the course of their service, located two vans parked on the shoulder of the AP-2 motorway, in the municipality of Fraga, so they proceeded to identify two of the occupants, observing that inside one of them was transporting about 2.500 kg of copper cable, cut into sections of one and a half meters, with clear signs of having been previously manipulated.
In the vicinity of the scene, officers noticed two other individuals who were hiding and crouching to avoid identification. After locating them, they were found to be carrying the keys to the other van, allowing officers to enter. Inside, they observed that it was transporting more than two tons of copper telephone wiring, as well as a drum containing diesel fuel. None of the four individuals identified could justify ownership or origin of the material transported in the vehicles.
The ROCA Team of the Civil Guard Company of Fraga took charge of the investigation of the events that occurred, proceeding to arrest four people as possible perpetrators of a crime of receiving stolen goods, being four men between 29 and 43 years old, residents of the province of Barcelona.
The total weight of recovered copper wiring is approximately 4.854 kg, with a market value of around €29.120. Both the transported material and the two vehicles were placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority. The ROCA Team of the Civil Guard Company of Fraga prepared the corresponding reports, which were sent to the Duty Court of Fraga. The detainees were released pending a summons from the Judicial Authority.
