The Gastronomic Week champions the hospitality industry as one of the cornerstones of tourism
Tomorrow, March 1st, this gastronomic event begins in the Bajo/Baix Cinca region, featuring four restaurants from the city of Fraga and one from Torrente de Cinca. At the presentation, the region's tourism councilor, Javier Carrasquer, pointed out that the hospitality industry is one of the cornerstones of tourism: " When we travel, we remember the places we've visited, but also where we've eaten well or enjoyed a good wine ." Carrasquer reminded everyone that the event runs from March 1st to 10th and invited everyone to go out with a partner or friends, during the week or on the weekend, to eat, enjoy the menus, and spread the word, because word of mouth is always the best promotion for a region.
For his part, Javier Catalán, councilor for economic development of the Fraga City Council, also participated in the presentation organized by the hospitality area of the La Intersectorial Business Association, and also highlighted the restaurant industry as one of the driving forces of tourism: " often the first information office that people perceive are the bars and restaurants, that is why these types of initiatives are important ."
The five restaurants discussed their menus and the cuisine they've created for this Gastronomic Week. You can see the options here:
