After several years of various procedures and processes including reclassification, drafting the urbanization project, bidding and construction, the Fraga City Council has completed "its part" and the project is now in the hands of the Bajo/Baix Cinca Region
Today this transfer was formalized at the regional headquarters, with the presence of the mayor of Fraga, Ignacio Gramun; the president and vice president of the region, Javier Ferrer and Félix Romera; the councilor of Social Services, Sara Campos and the councilor of Health of the Fraga council, Ángel Cabrera.
The Fraga City Council has transferred over 7.000 square meters of developed land to the Bajo/Baix Cinca region, with an approximate value of €422.000 , including the land itself and the work already completed. The council's part in this process is now complete, and it will be the regional government's responsibility to take the necessary steps to make the residence a reality.
The mayor of Fraga, Ignacio Gramun, described the day as " very significant and very special " because, finally, the transfer of the land was being formalized. He expressed his confidence in the project's progress and added, " I have faith in the region; I'm sure they will be fully committed to ensuring the residence is finally built in Fraga ." The city councilor for Health, Ángel Cabrera, expressed his satisfaction and excitement at the arrival of this day, which he described as " historic ."
For his part, the president of the Bajo/Baix Cinca region outlined the next steps : “ First, I want to thank the mayor, the council, and the city of Fraga for the land donation. Now we have to get to work, review the existing project to see if it's suitable, and if everything is in order, begin by publishing the tender, awarding the contract, and carrying out the work .” If, for whatever reason, the project drafted several years ago needs to be adapted, updated, or a new one drawn up , the regional entity will work to ensure that construction can begin before the end of this legislative term, the president indicated. Felix Romera, vice president of Bajo/Baix Cinca, added, “ For us, the regional residence is a priority ,” and Sara Campos, councilor for Social Services, expressed her confidence that construction will have begun and be as far along as possible before the end of this legislative term.
