The Department of Territory of the Generalitat of Catalonia will expropriate more than a hundred properties to address the improvement of the Camí de Mequinensa in La Granja d'Escarp
The budget for the works is 3 million euros. The project was approved at the end of 2023 by the Catalan Government to improve the road connecting the two municipalities. The work is part of a broader effort to improve mobility in La Granja d'Escarp. This project will affect a 4,3-kilometer stretch between the new roundabout on the LP-7041 and Mequinenza.
Some media outlets have reported that the Mequinenza town council has requested the Government of Aragon to take action on the section of the A-2414 road under its jurisdiction to improve the road that connects the two towns. This road is approximately 4 kilometers long and runs through the Aragonese section to the border with Lleida.
