This past weekend not only saw the Euro Football final, but also the continental junior Dodgeball championship
Several players from Zaidín, Fraga and Belver de Cinca have been part of the Spanish Dodgeball Team in the Junior European Championship held in Bologna (Italy) on July 12, 13 and 14.
From the Datchball Zaidín Club, the following players have been called up: Iván Jordán, Alba Teixidó, Elena Serés, Carla Rami, Paula Borges, Jaume Jordán, Judith Rastrojo, and Eric Escuer. Alejandro Escolano has been selected from the Datchball Fraga Club. Rubén Marzola has participated from the Datchball Belver Club.
Children from Vencillon, Albalate, Sariñena, Caspe and Zaragoza have also been selected.
On the other hand, there has also been participation from the Bajo Cinca region among the coaches: Alejandro Pirla (Belver), Beatriz Gros (Peñalba), Carlos Fuster (Caspe), Roberto Navarro and María Gonzales (Utebo).
More than 40 athletes and almost 100 people made up the Spanish team. The Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, and France were the other countries competing in the tournament.
For our team, it has been a fantastic and very positive experience, as Alejandro Pirla pointed out. The players have shown exceptional form, considering the short time they've been training, thanks to their background in dodgeball, many of whom have been playing it for six or seven years.
The Under-15 team achieved a fourth and sixth place finish. The Under-18 men's team finished fourth, and the Under-18 women's team finished fifth.
