The festival was held this Saturday, May 18th, starting at 9am with the traditional mass and ending in the early hours with a mobile disco.
The capital of the Bajo/Baix Cinca region has revived its festival in honor of San Isidro Labrador , patron saint of farmers, with great public acclaim and participation. The day, celebrated this past Saturday the 18th, began in the morning with the traditional mass, a communal lunch, horseback riding, and demonstrations of traditional crafts, concluding at midday with a musical vermouth session led by Lorena Margalló. The afternoon brought the more festive side of the day with children's activities, music, and a mobile disco.
The Fraga Town Hall and Peña Fragatina once again collaborated on a leisure activity for all ages. Mapi Aquilué, Councilor for Festivities, stated: “ …the San Isidro celebration was a complete success with activities for all ages and great participation, from the mass and lunch to the mobile disco. The collaboration of Peña Fragatina, the Fraga Equestrian Club, and the San Isidro Association was fundamental. We are certainly very pleased with yesterday .” For her part, the Councilor for Agro-industry, Verónica Alíns, also spoke very positively about the day, saying, “ We are grateful for the warm reception it received and hope that this year's event serves as a starting point for reviving a tradition and, more importantly and challenging, maintaining it over time. After seeing how well it was received this year, once the fruit harvest season is over, we will begin preparing for next year's San Isidro celebration and see what can be improved and how this celebration could be expanded .”
Peña Fragatina also gave a positive assessment of the day , highlighting the high public participation and the absence of any major incidents during the activities.
