The association carries out psychosocial recovery activities at the Fraga Health Center and awareness sessions in the municipality's high schools.
The mayor of Fraga, Ignacio Gramún, and the councilor for Health, Ángel Cabrera, met this Monday with Laura Sorinas, coordinator of the Asapme Huesca day center in the town, and its occupational therapist, Andrea Tello. At the meeting, the representatives of the Huesca Association for Mental Health presented the project the organization is developing in the city, where they serve more than 20 people at the mental health facilities of the Fraga Health Center.
In the Fraga center, this non-profit organization carries out psychosocial recovery activities. Additionally, members of Asapme Huesca conduct awareness sessions in the municipality's secondary schools to inform and educate both students and teachers about mental health.
The organization emphasizes that “we are always committed to promoting resources for mental health care in rural areas, in coordination with the Mental Health Unit, Basic Social Services, and local social and healthcare organizations.” They also explain that, “thanks to the support of the Department of Health, the team has been expanded to include two social workers who, along with the coordinator and the occupational therapist, provide services through the Day Center, the Community Social Team, the Employment Integration Center, and Social Awareness programs.”
