Club Atletismo Fraga brought its indoor track season to a close last weekend in Zaragoza with a gold medal at the Aragon U20 Championships. Álex Margalló was crowned regional champion in the 400-meter dash after posting a time of 53.69 seconds, his best mark of the season, on a day that also saw Ares Gómez and Laia Salamó compete in different categories.
Regional title in the return to the track
Álex Margalló delivered the most outstanding performance of the weekend for the Fraga club, winning the 400-meter final at the Aragon U20 Championships . The athlete was crowned regional champion after stopping the clock at 53.69 seconds, a time that also represents his best mark of the season in this distance.
Ares Gómez improves his 200-meter record
In the same championship, Ares Gómez competed in the 200-meter dash. The athlete from Fraga finished in sixth place with a time of 27.71 seconds, a further improvement on her personal best.
Experience for Laia Salamó in the under-14 category
On the other hand, the morning session was marked by Laia Salamó's participation in the Aragon Under-14 Championship . The young athlete completed an intense day in both speed and jumping events: in the 60-meter dash, she crossed the finish line in 8.63 seconds, a result that earned her fifth place, while in the long jump she reached 4.33 meters, a mark with which she also finished fifth in the final standings.
These performances allow the athlete to gain competitive experience in preparation for the Aragon Combined Events Championship , which will be held in two weeks.

The regional championship officially marks the end of the indoor track season for several athletes from Club Atletismo Fraga .
