They have sent an unsigned letter to the media stating that they suffered "excessive police action" and recounting their version of events.
Last Friday, a clash occurred between farmers and ranchers on one side and police forces on the other at the Aljafería Palace in Zaragoza, the seat of the Aragonese Parliament. In an unsigned statement sent to the media yesterday, Sunday, the farmers indicated that their intention that day “…was not, under any circumstances, to storm the Aljafería Palace…”.
The letter states that farm workers have always demonstrated peacefully and emphasizes that "...those of us leading these mobilizations are farmers and ranchers in a critical situation..."
