These are some recommendations for enjoying our region this weekend
The summer solstice and the celebration of Saint John's Day ushered in summer and the school holidays last week. Now comes the last weekend of June with a variety of cultural and sporting activities to enjoy in our towns and villages.
Fraga
24 Hours of Futsal – José Mª Larroya Albá Tournament
The 39th edition of this historic competition will be held on June 29th and 30th, with 65 teams, 33 hours of futsal, and nearly 600 participants. And this year, in addition to surpassing previous figures, it will debut a junior women's category.
This year's 24 Hours of Marathon will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday the 29th at the Cortes de Aragón and Sotet pavilions. The champions in the senior men's, senior women's, and veteran categories will be awarded a meal valued at €350 at restaurants in the city, while the runners-up will receive a €100 voucher for a well-known butcher shop, as a way of thanking local businesses for their support of the tournament. This year's trophies were made by the Virgen del Pilar Association.
Summer on the Street
The summer cultural program has just been unveiled, kicking off this Wednesday, the 26th, with the inauguration of the Bibliopiscina (Pool Library) and the show “La Diana de los Cuentos” (The Story Target) by Lü de Lourdes. Workshops and activities will be offered every Wednesday at 18 p.m.
On Saturday the 29th at 22 pm, the Sant Joan festival will be held in Plaza de España. This event will feature the collaboration of local residents Pepita Millanes, Quimeta Sorolla, Mª Carmen Villas, and Dorita Labrador, and will be enlivened by the Atlantic's Group Musical trio.
The “Estiu al carrer” program is organized by the Culture Department of the Fraga City Council and will run until the end of August, bringing culture to the streets with various performing arts for the enjoyment of all audiences.

Pool party
Last weekend, Zaidín opened the municipal swimming pool season with a visit from the children of CEIP San Juan Bautista, who enjoyed a summer day to celebrate the end of the school year. The party, originally scheduled for Saturday but postponed, has been rescheduled for this Thursday, the 27th, from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. They are planning a fun day with storytelling, inflatables, and music to enjoy the start of summer with family and friends.
Cinca Torrent
LGBTQ+ Pride
The equality delegation in Torrente de Cinca has organized an event where the manifesto written by the town's associations and entities in favor of respectful coexistence between neighbors of any group will be read.
And at 21:30 pm, a screening of the film Stone Wall, which tells the story of an example of struggle in 70s America against police repression and gave rise to the demonstrations that we know today every June 28th.
Culture on the Road
After being postponed due to inclement weather, the cultural program of the Bajo Cinca/Baix Cinca region finally arrives in Torrente de Cinca, bringing the performing arts to all audiences.
On Sunday, June 30, the physical comedy show “L'actitud” (winner of the Drac d'Or FECOLL award at the Lleida Puppet Festival in 2023) by JAM, Jaume Jové's Lleida-based company, based on clowning and street theatre, returns. The show has toured internationally and this time is being performed indoors at the Sports Arena at 20 pm.
“A clown and a food truck, are you sure that’s all you see?” This is how Jaume begins the presentation of his show, with a series of recurring gags such as “doors that won’t open when you need them to, gaming switches that fail to illuminate the darkness, rain that isn’t rain, drawings that come to life, walking against the wind that prevents you from moving forward, clock hands that never move the way you want, stacked chairs that fall like a house of cards… a wonderful story of overcoming adversity where nothing is what it seems.”

Last Friday, the summer program began at the swimming pools, which will liven up the weekends of the coming months with various themed parties.
During the month of July, the City Council will offer free ice cream to those who sit outside on Thursdays at 22 pm.
Reading Club
On Friday the 28th at 19 p.m. in the Library, the book club will meet again to prepare for the second edition of Elfiñena, this time with the theme "The Importance of Socializing at All Ages." This activity is part of the cultural program for June organized by the Ontiñena Town Hall.
Mequinenza
The next installment of 'La Comarca en color' with summer activities organized by the Comarca del Bajo/Baix Cincacita invites you to enjoy an afternoon of kayaking in Mequinenza, at "La Playeta", right above the dam, this Friday, June 28th, starting at 4:30 pm.
