The Fraga City Council has opened registration for the 2nd Annual Aragonese Traditional Clothing Competition , "City of Fraga," which will be held on April 18th. This initiative, part of the La Faldeta Festival (a National Tourist Interest event), aims to promote and showcase Aragonese cultural heritage through its traditional clothing. Registration will be open until March 18th , and those interested should complete the form available on the website reservas.fraga.org.
The competition is open to participants of all ages, who can compete in three categories: women's costume, men's costume, and ensemble . Judging will be based on the historical authenticity of the pieces, the quality of the materials and fabrics, the correct use of accessories, and the craftsmanship, always respecting the traditions of Aragonese dress. It should be noted that outfits and/or garments that won in the previous edition are not eligible for this competition.
The jury, composed of experts in traditional Aragonese clothing, will evaluate the entries during the parade to be held on April 18th at Fraga Castle. This year, three prizes will be awarded per category . First place in each category will receive €200, a trophy, and a diploma; second place, €100, a trophy, and a diploma; and third place, a trophy and a diploma. In addition, the jury may award special mentions, if deemed appropriate, to entire outfits or to outstanding garments or elements, which may be recognized as "honorable mentions."
