Cruz, from Fraga, won a silver and a bronze medal in discus and shot put, respectively. Meanwhile, Elena took home a silver in the 100m and a gold in the 4x100m relay with her team.
Good results for the Bajo Cinca athletics team at the XXXIX Spanish Sub23 Championship held in Burgos this past weekend (July 13 and 14)
Javi Cruz from Fraga achieved a double victory . The athlete, currently a member of Intec Zoiti, finished third in shot put with a throw of 16.21 meters on Sunday the 14th, and the day before, he finished second in discus.
Elena Guiu, a member of the Valencia Athletics Club, won the silver medal in the 100m on Saturday. The young runner from Veililla de Cinca finished in second place with a time of 11,65 . She also won gold with her team in the 4x100m relay, setting a new championship record in the process.
Both athletes were trained at Club Atletismo Fraga – Bajo Cinca, although they currently pursue their sporting and educational careers outside our region.
