The Civil Guard has arrested the suspected perpetrators of five robberies at different businesses. The incidents took place between October and November 2.023. The alleged perpetrators, two men and one woman, are charged with five counts of stealing goods worth more than €20.000.
Agents from the ROCA Team of the Civil Guard of Fraga, have carried out the arduous investigation that has resulted in the arrest of three people as alleged perpetrators of 5 robbery offenses in the months of October and November in different companies located in the villages of the municipality of Fraga.
Following a complaint filed with the Civil Guard station in Fraga on October 17, specialists from the ROCA Team in the same town launched Operation GRUYMER to clarify this criminal act.
During the course of the investigation, the agents became aware of the perpetration of four other robberies, two of them at the same company that had filed a complaint in October in which the perpetrators stole diesel fuel from its trucks, copper, motors, tools and bronze and brass parts.
In the two remaining cases, one was at a restaurant from which they stole the cash boxes from the arcade machines, and the last was at a service station adjacent to the aforementioned restaurant, from which they stole the diesel fuel from one of its trucks.
Once sufficient evidence was gathered, it was determined that in two locations, less than 2 km apart, the alleged perpetrators had gained access by cutting the fences in a similar manner and had stolen diesel fuel from trucks in both places, on the same date. Therefore, after various investigations and continuous surveillance, the alleged perpetrators were identified.
To locate and identify the members of the criminal group, it has been necessary to collaborate with agents from the Mossos d'Esquadra, the Guardia Urbana de Lérida and the Local Police of Fraga and Alcarrás.
This operation has solved five robberies committed within the municipality of Fraga, with the value of the stolen goods exceeding €20.000. Furthermore, a prohibited bladed weapon, five grams of cocaine, and some of the stolen goods were seized during the arrests.
Therefore, on February 12, three people were located and arrested: two men and one woman, aged between 62 and 36, residents of the towns of Lleida and Huelva. They were brought before the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 1 of Fraga as alleged perpetrators of five crimes of robbery with force and another of belonging to a criminal group, and were released with the obligation to appear before the Judicial Authority when required to do so.
