The council has announced the competition to choose the poster for the 2026 festivities.
The competition to choose the poster for the 2026 "La Santa" Festival has been announced. The deadline for submitting original artwork to participate in the poster competition is July 10th. The prize is 200 euros.
Mequinenza, June 16, 2026. The competition seeks the image that will represent the celebrations, which will take place from September 16 to 20, and is open to all residents of the town. Those interested in participating have until July 10 to submit their work to the town hall offices, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. The competition offers a prize of 200 euros for the winning entry, and each participant may submit a maximum of two original designs.
Posters must be in A3 format, unlaminated, and may be created using any artistic or photographic technique suitable for four-color printing. Designs using gold, silver, or fluorescent inks will not be accepted.
Among the mandatory requirements is the inclusion of elements that clearly identify Mequinenza, as well as the inscription “SANTA 2026 Mequinenza from September 16 to 20, 2026,” written in both Spanish and Catalan. The municipal coat of arms, measuring 3 by 2,5 centimeters, must also be included. Works that do not meet these conditions will be excluded from the exhibition and evaluation process.
To ensure the fairness of the competition, posters must be submitted anonymously. Only the title of the work should appear on the back, while the author's personal information must be placed in a sealed envelope bearing the same title. This envelope must also contain a photocopy of the author's ID and a contact telephone number.
After the submission period closes, the accepted proposals will be on display from July 13 to 17 at the Town Hall's exhibition stands. During those days, residents and visitors can participate in choosing their favorite design through a public vote, which will account for 20% of the final score. The jury's deliberations will take place on July 20.
The final decision will be made by a jury composed of representatives from the Department of Festivals, the Festival Committee, the Grup d'Art, and the local social clubs. Their evaluation will account for the remaining 80% of the score. The decision will be final and may be declared void if none of the entries meet the required quality standards.
The winning poster will become the property of the Mequinenza City Council and will be presented in the Miguel Ibarz Room during the opening ceremony of the "La Santa" exhibition in 2026.
The organizers remind participants of the importance of carefully reviewing the competition rules. Furthermore, for any entries featuring minors, it will be necessary to include the corresponding authorization signed by their parent or legal guardian.
